NPC June 2014 (My Third Competition)

Jenny, me, Nicole, Hannah

My third competition was this past weekend and it was so much fun! It was NPC. I was so nervous for this one but it ended up being great! I placed 5th in my class! I was really happy with that, because I thought I had no chance of placing at all. In fact, I was backstage pigging out on chocolate covered cinammon bears and chips ahoy cookies when they called my number! I had to literally run onstage (while wiping cookie crumbs off of my face). This was stiff competition. All the women had perfect, shredded bodies. I felt so honored to be able to stand up there next to those 4 other girls. They all looked incredible. The best part about this whole show was competing with people I know. There were 3 other girls from my same gym, so we were all already friends. I love that we can compete against each other but still support and encourage each other. They are all amazing inside and out!
I am so excited to compete again. I plan on competing in September and then again in October. But for the next couple of days...I'm relaxing. :)

My girl Hannah Gregory! This was her first show and she looked so good!! I'm so excited to do more shows with her!
Wow. This guy is incredible.
I got my hair and makeup done by Heather Shelton (Red Scarlet Makeup). She is amazing!

These pictures were just taken from far away on my camera. They'll do until I get my professional ones back! :)
Thanks for the snapback Riven!! rivengear.com
I couldn't have done any of this without my coach Tamara Watt. She couldn't be at the show but she has done so much to help me.
Jessica, Hannah and me!
Nicole did so awesome!!
Niki did so good!!
The girl on the left won first place! Her body is peeeerrrrfect. Her name is Jessica Partridge and she has the nicest butt I've ever seen!!!!

I couldn't have done any of this without my amazing sponsor: Fitness Competitors Database! Thank you so much  Keen and Siri!!!

MY FIRST SPONSORSHIP!!!!

Oh my goodness so much has happened in the last couple of weeks! I can't believe that I'm just now writing about it. I've been busy prepping for this show (it's in two days and I am FREAKING out).

BUT YOU GUYS!!!!!!!! Something crazy happened to me last week!!
 I GOT SPONSORED!!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh I can't even tell you how excited I am about it! Since I started this whole competition shhhtuff, I had dreams of getting noticed. I had dreams of getting sponsored and of making a new lifestyle out of fitness and competing. Since I very first began prepping for my very first competition (8 months ago), I knew I was already addicted. I loved training for it. I loved dieting for it. It absolutely sucks and it's so hard, but I loved pushing myself toward my goals. I knew that I had to compete again before I even stepped onstage for the first time. I have become so passionate for this. But I never thought that I would already have a sponsor, going into my third competition. I never thought that I would have these opportunities so soon. To be working with such amazing and inspiring people on projects that I know will change the fitness industry forever.
The company that is sponsoring me is called Fitness Competitors Database. Their website just launched yesterday and you HAVE TO check it out!! It's for everybody involved with fitness. From trainers, to photographers, to athletes, to models. It connects everyone so easily. All you have to do is make a profile for yourself, saying what all you do. It's such a good way to get your name out there and to open new opportunities. The website is www.fcdb.com. Please go check it out. It is going to be a breakthrough in the fitness industry and I feel so honored to be a part of it. Also go follow them on instagram @fitnesscompetitorsdatabase and check out my new fitness instagram @tiarajordyn_fit
I am so so grateful for this opportunity. As I mentioned a few posts ago, competing is draining. Physically, emotionally, and financially. This gave me a new boost of motivation to push hard and reminded me why I started this journey. I was living paycheck to paycheck to afford my competitions, and I'm so extremely grateful that I have this show completely paid for. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging about this. But I want to inspire people to chase their dreams, even when it's hard. Even when you don't have the money. Even when you have to work extra hours. Even when you feel like you've pushed yourself to your limit. Keep going. "Follow your dreams, and the universe will open doors for you where there were only windows." That quote could not be more true. Whether it's fitness, or something else, push through the hard times and be grateful for every opportunity you receive.

BODY FAT Counts. (Not The Scale)

Hello everyone! I'm really happy to say that I got my body fat tested yesterday and I am down to 10.3% body fat!!!!!!! That is absolutely insane to me, because when I first started this whole journey, I was at 21.3%. I've lost 11% body fat. The craziest part is that I've gained 6 pounds!! I feel so much better about myself now that I've put on muscle and I feel so much healthier. I know that 10% body fat is low. I don't want to stay at 10% for very long. It's dangerous because it starts messing with your reproductive system. I wanted to post these pictures to say... It really doesn't matter what the scale says. I used to hear that all the time but I would just brush it off. I think that sentence should always be followed by; "your body fat percentage is what counts." I weighed 114 when I first started and now I'm at 120 lbs!
Anyways, It's been a while since I posted. I've been super busy between working and trying to get my workouts in everyday to compete on June 21st! I'm not going to lie.... this time around has been so tough. I didn't realize it would be so hard to do competitions back to back. It's hard to always be focused on what your body is doing and what you are (or aren't....) eating. Of course, I believe in having a healthy diet all the time, but competition dieting is pretty dang strict. I don't think it's good to deprive yourself for months at a time. After this show, I'll definitely be taking a couple of months off. Competing is draining. It's physically, mentally, emotionally, and even financially draining. It has been super hard preparing for this show. I'm starting to feel just a little bit burnt out. It's been harder to get myself to the gym everyday. I've started to doubt myself a lot and get discouraged because I know this will be a huge show and that all the women are going to look incredible. But being confident is the most important part. I have to believe in myself and tell myself that I can do this. I am IN LOVE with competing, and it's completely worth all the hard times.  I still plan on dieting and exercising hard everyday after this show.... I just will allow myself a little more cheat meals and maaaaybe a little more carbs in my diet! But overall, I feel great. Most the time, I don't crave the bad foods, because my body is getting everything it needs. Just gotta push hard through these next 2 weeks and then I can relax a little bit ;)
